The Thing About "Stadium Arcadium"

This song, created and performed by the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2006, is from the double album of the same title. I think this song is really under appreciated in the collection of 28 songs.

Maybe you've heard it before. I don't know. The thing about "Stadium Arcadium" is that it is at once hauntingly beautiful but also deeply mystical, or if you prefer, spiritual. You listen to it and it takes you away through the clouds, throughout the stars and, for me, anyway, you feel as though you have become one with the rest of the universe.

Every time I've listened to it, I'm left feeling inspired somehow.

I know. It sounds like my cheese has completely slipped off it's cracker but I can't help it. I love this song and it's really not that heavy (like the kind of music I often listen to)- at least in the sense of it being a rock song. But it is heavy with heart and soul.

The lyrics are open for interpretation and many have found different meanings to this song from what I've seen on the Internet. The song stands way out among my favorites on the entire double CD set. Don't get me wrong. I like them all but this is the one I always come back to.

Listen to it at least once and let me know what you think. Be honest and feel free to agree or disagree with what I said or whatever keeps your cheese on your cracker. :-)

I've always liked the Chili Peppers and I agree this is a very underated song not just on that particular album but of all their hits. It's one of those songs that you can just chill out and relax too.

The Wolf- I agree with ya completely. It is one of the most underrated of all their songs they made. And its so true what you said about chilling out to this song. When I first heard it, I got goose bumps on my arms, man. And it takes quite a bit for a song to affect me that way.

Take care.

Yeah man, I like to listen to a bit of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
I'm not familiar with the song you posted. It's a chilled-out song and I could sure do with some of that.
Take care, Gary

I have the CDs. Love that song and love the Chili Peppers. I'm into that funky, rock stuff.

Have you heard, "Screaming Headless Torsos?"

You'd like them. Check out "Vinnie" or some of the other songs from that album.

klahanie- Hahaha. Yeah, that song you're quoting from there is great, too. A lot of fun. Wild video for that one.

Glad you like this very chilled-out song. Peace, dude.

One of The Guys- You have the CD's so you know what I'm talkin' about, don'tcha? I'm like that funky, rock stuff, too. My musical tastes run from metal to alternative to psychedelic to rock to pretty much anything, really- except rap or country. Gotta draw the line with those genres. lol.

I've never heard of that band you're talking about but I will check them out and let you know what I think. Sounds cool. Nice title for a band, too. :) Have yourself a dandy day, Guy!

One of The Guys- I checked out "Screaming Headless Torsos". They've got a great, funky beat, for sure. I listened to their songs, Cult of The Internal Sun, Smile and a Wave and a couple more, besides Vinnie.

I put one of their videos up on the blog to the right- that's how much I liked them. Thanks for letting me in on them, Guy.
